Malta

Western & Southern Europe1 independent article
Sun-drenched EU island, English-speaking, with residency and citizenship routes.

Malta is a English-speaking EU and eurozone member with 300 days of sun, a booming services economy and well- known residency (MPRP) and citizenship programmes. Foreigners buy readily, but note the AIP-permit rule: outside designated 'Special Designated Areas' (SDAs) a non-resident may own only one property and generally cannot rent it out; inside SDAs (branded developments) you can buy multiple units and let freely.
