Amarapura Group is a Hong Kong based developer that was established by architect, David Clark, and businessman, Kwang Wee Oon. The company offers a full range of property development services from concept design and project funding to documentation.
The Group has worked across Asia, undertaking luxury residential, hotel and retail projects in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Their design portfolio includes the City of Dreams Casino in Macau, which was a $4.5 billion hotel, retail and casino development and The Avare luxury apartment complex in Kuala Lumpur. As a developer they have undertaken several luxury villa and building developments in Phnom Penh, Koh Samui and Phuket.
About the Co-Founders:
David Clarke is an Australia architect based in Hong Kong. He is an award winning architect, with his accolades including the top prize for architecture in Hong Kong in 2001 for his design of the Dragonair Headquarters. His focus is not only on high quality design, but also envisioning and planning a project through to completion.
Kwang Wee Oon is the CEO of Amarapura and responsible for business development, project funding and concept development. He has over 25 years experience in financial services, property development and retail industries across Asia.
Currently the company is undertaking several projects in Cambodia and Vietnam. The projects include the following:
7NG Portfolio, Phonm Penh: Consisting of 4 prime sites in Phnom Penh, the 7NG Portfolio includes residential, commercial and retail properties. This will incorporate a 44 storey office site at the site of the Preah Suramarith Theater, a convention centre, a high rise residential tower that includes recreation facilities, schools and community services and a luxury residential development next to the Australian Embassy. The entire portfolio is estimated to have a cost of $700 million.
Preah Kossomak, Phnom Penh: A retail and residential development on a site are of over 65,700 square meters on Russian Federation Boulevard, with an estimated cost of $180m.
Le Gendarmerie, Phnom Penh: This development utilizes a beautiful French Heritage facade built during the French administration of the country, and behind the facade will develop a Tropical Boutique Hotel set over six stories. Located near the Tonle Sap river and with a stunning view over Wat Phnom Penh, this unique property will be managed by an international hotel brand.
Koh Rong Island in Cambodia: This largely uninhabited island is to be developed into a environmentally sustainable resort development. Located just 22 kilometers from Sihanoukville in the Gulf of Thailand, the island is perfect for holiday makers with white sandy beaches and crisp, turquoise waters. At present Government approval for development has been granted and the project is seeking equity investors and purchasers. It is estimated that the development, which includes infrastructure projects will cost $100 million for its first stage.
The Riverview Project, Ho Chi Minh City: This luxury residential estate has absolute river frontage in District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City. The development will include a luxury hotel complex and is intended to be an “urban resort” for residents, with recreation facilities and beautifully landscaped gardens. The project is estimated to cost $690 million.
The Royal Tower, Phnom Penh: A 40 storey development will include 22 floors of office space, 9 floors of serviced apartments, 2 penthouse levels and a retail, club and landscaped pool deck is focusing on providing work and living space for international corporations in Cambodia. The estimated cost of the project is $112 million.
The Cambodiana, Phnom Penh: A spectacular hotel complex built over 3.5 hectares of riverfront property in a prime location in Phnom Penh. The Cambodiana project will also include residential properties, and has an estimated cost of $93 million.
