In some locations, we are lucky to have key-holding services or property management companies who can hand over the keys and inspect our properties on checkout. As such a better solution I always feel is to have someone trusted who inspects the property post checkout and to hold a security deposit for any damages. This is essentially a combination lock for keys that you can attach to your front gate – You set the password and give the same to the traveler by email or SMS and they enter the code and voila!! the front of the lock opens to reveal your keys inside. It is very simple to operate and when they leave they can use the same system to leave the keys there safe so that you can pick them up and then change the code for the next time. The product is very cheap – about 1000 Rs. or 25USD (30SGD) and I highly recommend the same. It may be a bit difficult to find in some countries in Asia so if you find it difficult let me know and maybe we will import a few hundred of them for our readers.
